The Nebraska Youth Lacrosse Association is looking for high school and college players to be assistant coaches, referees for youth games and coaches for our weekly clinic. You will be helping develop players who will someday be wearing your schools jersey in the high school and college leagues. 1. Assistant coaches will be assigned to teams in your area so you can pass your knowledge and skills along to your schools future. We will have a developmental program to train you to become better coaches. 2. Referees can work for pay or as community service which is a huge plus on a college application. You will be trained by sanctioned USA Lacrosse referees and a developmental program will be conducted throughout the year to help build skills and get you ready to referee at higher levels if you want to move up as a referee. 3. Clinic Coaches will get to work directly with all players in the youth league to develop their basic and advanced skills in all facets of the game. The clinic will be held once a week and is open to all current and prospective youth players. We want a fun learning environment and you will be able to make this happen. We would like all clinic and assistant coaches to wear their uniforms (no pads) when they coach so the youth players can see their future high school or colleges colors and give them goals to drive for. For a young player just seeing the blue of Creighton Prep and Creighton University, the green of Millard West, the black and gold of Burke and of course the red and white of the University of Nebraska will motivated them to learn and get better because you are showing them their future. All coaches and referees who choose community service will receive a certificate at the end of the season to add to your college applications. Be a part of building the future of lacrosse in Nebraska! Teach the players who will beat Rockhurst into the ground! Pass your skills to the player who may someday stand toe to toe with Virginia or Maryland as part of the official UNL, UNO and Creighton Lacrosse teams!!!
